Lessons from 20,000 crows
Witnessing 20,000 crows return to their roost was an awe inspiring experience. The dusky sky had many rivers of crows flowing in from all directions and cawing loudly to each other. They are not like a synchronized murmuration of starlings that undulates and flows. This was more of a very individual interactive dance to their own song. As they settled into the trees to roost and quieted down we opened our senses and we respectfully asked if we could learn from them. We sensed their willingness to engage. .
We were interested to learn about love from the Crows since they are keepers of Sacred Love. Each participant received personal messages. For me, I had energy travel up my left arm across my heart to my right arm and heard that Sacred Love is opening up to life and trusting life. I saw an image of their wings that are in relationship with the updrafts of air and with flow. Again loudly I heard
Embrace life.
We had a lot of curiosity and desire to understand why they returned here every day. Are they returning home? Where is their home? And what does home mean to them? Among the human participants we all describe home as a sense of safety and a place of belonging. When we asked the crows where is home? The response I heard is that their home is the earth. They specified both the daytime space and night time space are home. They loudly emphasized
Home is Presence.
It has been three days since I witnessed this mysterious and magical dance and I can still hear the calls and feel a new sense of home within myself.
